Wood Picture Frames

Use of wood at home is like bringing the natural beauty to the house. An item made of wood just somehow tends to give everything a rich and elegant look. Various kinds of woods are utilized for making wooden furniture or other things.  Use of wood just changes the mood of the room. Elaborate moldings are often made to intensify the look of the picture inside. There are various types of wooden picture frames. The L type variety is the simplest one. It consists of the border in the shape of letter “L”. It is the lower part of the frame which holds the picture together.

Another type of wooden frame is a photo cube. This is a frame in which a whole family’s photos can be covered. The picture frame gives a very warm feeling and is capable of bringing back a lot of wonderful memories. There is nothing else that can match this as far as family photos are concerned.

Table top picture frames and hanging picture frames are some of the other types of wood picture frames.  Hanging picture frames are also used to frame paintings especially portraits. The wooden picture frames are available in all kinds of shapes. They are square, rectangular and even oval.  Each shape conveys something different. If the craftsmanship and quality of the wood is perfect then one picture frame can bring the surroundings to shine with eternal brilliance.

Wooden frames are also plated with gold or silver. Intricate engravings are made on the wooden frames. Sometimes contrasting colors are used to give a different look to the wooden frame and consequently to the picture inside it.

The use of wood in picture frames is not new. It has been in practice since the time of kings and the queens when their portraits used to be hung in palaces.  The trend is on the rise, with more creativity to enhance the look of your home.
